Broad Scope and Function |
The position promotes the values of the public, regional, comprehensive, metropolitan university. The position serves as a Faculty Field Liaison and Lecturer in support of the Title IV-E MSW stipend program. In addition to contributing to teaching and learning, participation in service with community partners and the university. |
Reporting Relationship |
This position receives general direction from the Program Director/Project Coordinator. |
Conditions of Employment |
This is a full-time, exempt from overtime, benefited position with a defined contribution retirement plan through TIAA. (This position is not covered under the California Public Employees’ Retirement System). This position will work 10 months of the year, but salary and benefits will be paid over 12 months. Continued employment in this position is dependent upon funding and the mutual consent of University Enterprises and the employee, and either University Enterprises or the employee, can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. Program continuation is contingent upon funding. |

Minimum Qualifications |
1. Master’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program, and demonstrated post MSW social work experience. 2. A minimum of two years post-graduate work experience in Child Welfare. 3. Ability to teach at the graduate level, specifically, courses within the Title IV-E MSW program. 4. Demonstrated ability to establish, communicate and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse ethnic and language communities, parents, teachers, administrators, community persons, office colleagues and staff. 5. Excellent written and oral communication skills. 6. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations. 7. Must be legally eligible to drive in California and be acceptable for vehicle insurance coverage under the University Enterprises insurance plan. Must continue to meet the established driving standards. 8. Must pass a background check, which may include fingerprinting. Must continue to meet the established standards. |
Preferred Qualifications |
1. Teaching experience in Social Work Education or training/clinical supervision experience. |
Physical Requirements |
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computers, telephones, calculators, copiers, scanners, printers, and fax machines. |
Working Conditions |
Work is performed in an office environment; continuous contact with faculty, staff, stakeholders, the campus community, representatives of funding agencies, and community partners. |

01. Develops appropriate placement sites for IV-E Students. |

02. Performs placement planning reviews for incoming students and matching of students and agencies for first year IV-E placements working with the field director. |

03. Conducts site visits to agencies to monitor and support the students’ learning experience and to insure the requirements of the Division of Social Work and Title IV-E program are met. |

04. Assists students and field instructors in the development of the student Learning Agreement and explore ways to format the competency requirements. |

05. Conducts telephone contacts to obtain updates on students’ progress and learning experiences. |

07. Maintains accurate documentation for student academic records. |

08. Provides information/training on child welfare competencies to the Field Instructors. |

11. Participates in activities associated with IV-E & Division of Social Work recruitment events. Activities include, but are not limited to, conducting informational sessions on the Title IV-E Program, both on campus and within community organizations. |

12. Conducts field integration training seminars and/or classroom instruction as required. |

13. Performs placement planning for incoming first year students, typically beginning over the summer (June) and requires in depth-interview with the student to determine individual education needs or special accommodation that might be necessary. |

14. Participates in Social Work Committees, practice, policy, and field education, including: attending monthly meetings to address field issues on many levels. |

15. May participate on standing or ad-hoc subcommittee of the Field Education Committee. |

16. Assists with development of interview schedules, questions and rating instruments and pre-screening of IV-E applicants. |

17. Serves on the Advisory Committee for panel interviewing, ranking, and selection of Title IV-E stipend recipients. |

18. Attends faculty meetings, participates, and assists with various other Title IV-E activities as required. |

19. Participates in all Title IV-E MSW university activities both on and off campus. |

20. Performs administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Title IV-E Project Coordinator, including but not limited to: preparing monthly activity reports and insuring student stipend contracts are completed. |
