Under general direction of the Power System Principal Engineer, to provide a wide variety of moderate to complex engineering and other tasks in support of the Agency’s hydroelectric facility. This position will work in the Engineering function of the Agency. This position will perform duties including project management of non-routine and capital projects, engineering design, maintenance and compliance support, special projects, and other related duties as assigned.
The Hydro Engineer-Electrical a journey level classification in the Hydro Engineer series directly reporting to the Principal Hydro Engineer and ultimately, the Power Systems Manager, and is distinguished from the Senior Hydro Engineer by the assignment of the full range of duties. Employees at the journey level receive instruction or assistance as new, unusual or unique situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. This position needs to be able to work collaboratively with peers, maintenance and operating personnel, administrative staff and upper management to achieve Agency objectives. The Hydro Engineer-Electrical will also be assigned projects requiring application of basic mechanical and/or civil engineering fundamentals. Work is performed with a broad framework of general policy, and requires creativity and resourcefulness to accomplish goals and objectives. All work is expected to be carried out in a professional, ethical, organized, accurate, secure, timely and confidential manner.
Hydroelectric Power Plant Electrical Technician

The Electrical Technician is responsible for routine electrical maintenance, repair, and installation work associated with the operation, maintenance, and repair of water supply, flood control, hydroelectric and recreation facilities, and various related components of the Yuba County Water Agency’s facilities. The job entails substantial physical activity requiring good dexterity, coordination, and the ability to lift and carry moderate loads.
This is a non-supervisory position that reports directly to the Supervising Electrical Technician and ultimately under to the Power Systems Manager. This position is a working technician who performs as a team member with all other crafts and management. All work is expected to be carried out in a professional manner.
