Project Manager
The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Project Manager in the Public Works Department within the Community Development & Services Agency. There are 2 vacancies available; one assigned to support the County Service Areas and the other assigned to Public Works projects, including grant management.
The Public Works Department is seeking Project Managers to assist in two areas of the department. One Project Manager will assist the engineering staff in managing capital improvement projects. The other Project Manager position will be assisting the Deputy Director of Public Works – Construction in managing County Service Areas. The ideal candidates for this position will have a passion for and experience with areas such as landscaping, roadway/bridge construction, special districts, and other Public Works related projects. Additionally, skills are preferred in areas such as budgets, contracts, program development, public communication, and related project management needs.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with major coursework in accounting, business administration, economics, project management, public administration or a field closely related to the project and two years of program or project management. Qualifying experience will include performing research studies and analysis, contract development and administration, financial and budgetary analysis, capital improvement and facilities planning and/or other progressively related experience directly related to the project.
Candidates with strong experience who lack the degree are encouraged to apply.
PREFERRED: In addition to the minimum, a Project Management Professional Certification (PMP), experience developing and managing a project or program in a public agency setting and four years of project management. Additional certifications may be desirable based on area of assignment.
