About the Position
The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Executive Assistant to the County Administrator. Under general supervision, provides high-level professional administrative support requiring independent judgment, action and interpretation of policy and administrative regulations and performs complex, confidential and specialized professional administrative functions for a variety of programs and projects for the County Administrator and related staff; coordinates meetings, schedules and maintains required reference materials and performs related work as assigned. Responsibilities include routine contact with government officials, elected officials, board and commission members, business and community organizations and members of the press on behalf of the County Administrator. Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to maintain composure, be resourceful, adaptable, keep emotions in check and avoid aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations. This candidate deals with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and will successfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work. Acts as the point of contact among executives, employees, clients and other external partners. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software and have a the ability to operate all types of modern office equipment. Facilitate and maintain a positive, creative and innovative working environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum: An Associate's degree from an accredited college with major course work in business, public administration or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible secretarial or administrative experience. Candidates with strong experience who lack the degree are encouraged to apply.
Preferred: In addition to the minimum, additional years of experience as previously defined or in a governmental agency.
Special Requirements & Licenses/Certifications: Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which includes Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire. Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109. The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; maintain throughout employment. Typing Certificate: Minimum of 40 net words per minute.
VALID TYPING CERTIFICATE REQUIRED WITH APPLICATION:
Minimum Net 40 wpm. Must indicate results from a 5 min. test, testing agency and no more than 12 mo. old. (Note: On-line tests NOT acceptable)
