Although Western Equipment Finance is located in Devils Lake, ND, this position has the opportunity to work remote.
The VP-Credit is responsible to ensure the Credit Department adheres to credit policy and effectively monitor portfolio performance and assess portfolio performance data. Position ensures the Western excellence expectation is followed by meeting customer commitments while following necessary policy and processes and driving the organization towards its ability to succeed. Position is responsible to work with team and vendors to review and understand exceptions that we make to credit policy, monitor portfolio performance, and possess a thorough understating of the risk profile of applications. The VP-Credit leads a high performance culture by creating a work environment that supports engagement, innovation, creativity, and teamwork, consistent with the organization’s vision, core values, and team guidelines.
Duties and responsibilities for this position include:
- Monitor application volume, evaluate credit worthiness, and provide guidance and assistance to sales, credit, documentation, risk management, and collections. This includes exercising credit authority within pre-approved limits, ensuring credit turnaround meets expectations while remaining within credit policy, reviewing credit exceptions on a periodic basis, and working with examiners and auditors.
- Coach and mentor Credit Department, including establishment of department meetings and one-on-one meetings, setting of performance goals, monitoring progress, and coaching.
- Building strong internal relationships to ensure strong understanding of what other departments and teams are committing to our customers to ensure competitiveness within the market while ensuring a conservative approach.
- Other responsibilities and duties as needed or assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Finance required with 10+ years of credit experience including sales industry experience, with 2+ years leading a team.
