Description:
Support Sensory Manager in delivering strategic Sensory Insights to Wells through management of Wells Sensory panels and sensory studies, statistical analysis and panel performance monitoring and report writing. Works with Sensory Technician in practical aspects of sample preparation and test execution.
- Manage the Descriptive Panel program, including line management supervision of panelists, panel expansion, leading training of panelists, planning of studies, study design and execution, relevant statistical analysis, interpretation and recommendations that guide business decisions and further research
- Continuously monitor the performance of the Descriptive Panelists to maintain high performance standards through annual re-screening, planned monitoring studies and to provide retraining and panel expansion/refresh when necessary.
- Manage the Discrimination Panel program, including ensuring best practice in all testing, detailed statistical analysis, interpretation and recommendations that guide business decisions and further research.
- Manage overall scheduling of Descriptive and Discrimination testing to ensure efficient and timely delivery of learning as needed to support the NPD process and liaising with Sensory Manager and project teams to make adjustments when necessary.
- Assist Sensory Manager in mining sensory data for strategic Sensory Insights and providing recommendations for business decisions, particularly in combining consumer liking with descriptive sensory data.
- Assist Sensory Manager in planning and delivery of annual mandatory plant employee sensory training in compliance with SQF requirements.
- Oversee all sample preparation methodologies to ensure accurate and proper handling of product samples and hygienic preparation conducted in a safe manner.
- Utilizing specialist Sensory software (Compusense) and statistical analysis applications.
Qualifications:
- May be a new graduate with practical experience in college or internship of conducting sensory tests, or have 1+ year’s practical experience in sensory analysis role.
- Bachelors in Sensory Analysis or Food Science (with a Sensory Analysis element)
- Strong communication (oral and written) skills are required.
- Statistical analysis skills with proven data interpretation knowledge
- Preferred experience utilizing sensory and statistical software such as Compusense, XLstat, and SPSS
