Position Summary Editor position with Iowa Testing Programs at the University of Iowa College Of Education. Position will edit K-12 assessment materials (all subject areas) to ensure materials are written clearly, adhere to program style, and are free from errors.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Type of Position: Specified Term. A staff member may be appointed to term status for a specific term not to exceed three years in order to accomplish a specific purpose or when the duration of funding is limited or unknown.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Edit testing materials (test items, ancillary guides, support materials, etc.) for grammatical accuracy, clarity, organization, and consistency to style.
- Create and maintain editorial style guides across programs to ensure consistency.
- Assist with proofing of test items prior to publication to ensure materials are free from errors.
Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Experience Required
- Two years or more of experience editing materials for large scale assessments or technical/scientific publications.
- Two or more years of experience preparing and proofing assessment or technical/scientific materials for publication.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing editorial style guides, highly desirable.
- Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa
