Video Producer
The Sacramento Bee is seeking an experienced Video Producer to join in producing timely news video content to support McClatchy's West region.
This Video Producer will play an important role in curating, optimizing and creating video content that appeals to local and national online audiences. The role requires close collaboration across our regional newsrooms. The schedule for this role could include nights and/or weekends.
Responsibilities:
-Produce and curate video for related stories across our network of websites
-Monitor real-time analytics to manage and publish video content within a CMS and social platforms
-Work with region to assist in meeting monthly goals and to develop creative, visual approaches to storytelling
-Optimize video with strong headlines, captions, summaries, story links and SEO keywords
-Video and audio script writing
-Independently conceive, research, write, shoot and edit compelling videos on a tight timeline
-Assist with production and planning of audio products
Qualifications
Education: College degree required.
Special Training: Ability to masterfully edit video. Background in journalism, video, audio and digital media preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year digital journalism experience with a preference for video production

-Visual sensibility and experience contributing to interactive and multimedia work with creative concepts and implementation.

-An understanding of audience trends and digital media important.
-Spanish language/writing fluency preferred.

This position will be based in the Sacramento Bee newsroom and will report to the Regional Video/Audio Lead. Some travel may be required.
