SUMMARY:
The Coordinator of the Gift Tree is responsible for the daily operations and financial success of the Tahoe Forest Health System gift shop, the Gift Tree. The Coordinator assures that the store is properly maintained and staffed and is innovative in developing ways to attract customers. The Coordinator assures that store business is conducted in an ethical manner consistent with the values of the Tahoe Forest Hospital District.

SUMMARY:

The Coordinator assures that the store is properly maintained and staffed and is innovative in developing ways to attract customers. The Coordinator assures that store business is conducted in an ethical manner consistent with the values of the Tahoe Forest Hospital District.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years customer service experience, preferably from boutique store/outlet, hospital and/or pharmacy drug store. Preferred: Associates Degree.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS:
Required: Valid drivers license.
OTHER EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Works with the Executive Director of Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation (Executive Director) on strategic planning (including marketing) to meet the overall revenue goals and objectives of the gift shop.
- Works effectively with Executive Director regarding budget development and management, cash flow and handling of revenues.
- Coordinates all operations of the gift shop including training, supervision and shift scheduling of volunteers, visual merchandising and displays, purchasing, reporting and developing sales strategies to maximize profits.
- Assures that there are adequate numbers of volunteers scheduled to keep the store open according to time frames agreed upon with Executive Director. Will personally fill vacant shifts.
- Assists in providing a great customer experience and optimum profitability.
- Develops & submits month-end reports for TFHD accounting.
- Responsibly and competently tracks expenses, revenues, daily receipts. Completes weekly cash drawer deposits and provides for effective security for money and valuable items.
- Conducts strategic market research and places orders for the Gift Tree and is available to attend a minimum of one Gift Show per year (when necessary).
- Prices and attractively displays all merchandise to ensure that inventory is rapidly sold. Demonstrates creativity, and looks for new opportunities and items to sell- including building out a "logo wear section for employees.
- Develops, organizes, and conducts promotional strategies to help move merchandise and raise community awareness about the Foundation among potential donors, volunteers, and customers.
- Promotes and maintains professional, team and service-oriented environment.
- Participates actively in fund raising efforts for the Foundation, including creative support for special events.
- Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
- Complies with System policies and procedures.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

OTHER EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of retail and merchandising trends with a focus on quality, marketing and presentation. Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting and computational practices. Experience with profit and loss accountability, cash retail operations, retail marketing, ordering and inventory experience. Good written and verbal communication skills.
COMPUTER/BUSINESS SKILLS:
Ability to use simple office machines such as a copier and ability to use computer for timekeeping, email and regulatory training. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Experience and/or knowledge of Square (POS) system a plus. Preferred knowledge with Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, Raisers Edge.
