Firefighter - Paramedic

Under general supervision of a fire captain, performs a full range of all-risk emergency activities, including, but not limited to, fire suppression, emergency medical services, extrication, technical rescue, and hazardous materials. Firefighters will engage in the suppression of structural, wildland, and other types of fires; performs scheduled maintenance of fire stations, fire apparatus, and related equipment; provides emergency medical and rescue services to the community; participates in fire safety inspections; maintains various records and completes various reports; may be required to drive emergency fire and EMS apparatus; performs other duties as required.
AGE: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
EDUCATION: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE:
Must be a licensed Paramedic in good standing at time of application. Must possess a National Registry Paramedic card OR a California State Paramedic Card at time of application. If candidates apply with a National Registry card, you must be able to obtain a California State Paramedic License by the time of interviews which are tentatively scheduled for the week of February 5, 2018.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess a valid CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) certificate at time of application. YOU MUST SUBMIT A VALID COPY OF YOUR CPAT CARD WITH YOUR APPLICATION. The CPAT must be current and issued after January 5, 2017 (one year prior to the closing date of January 5, 2018).
LICENSES: Must possess a California State Paramedic license by the time of interviews which are tentatively scheduled for the week of February 5, 2018. Must be able to obtain a Sacramento County EMT-P Accreditation by completion of the Academy. Possession of a valid [unrestricted] California Driver's License Class C. Ability to obtain and maintain a Firefighter Endorsement within six (6) months of appointment.
