BENEFITS: Retirement - CalPERS retirement: Classic employee 3% @ 60, PEPRA employee 2% @ 62 Health Benefits - CalPERS health insurance offering variety of HMO's and PPO's. District contributes 92% of the health plan premium and the employee is responsible for the remaining 8% of the premium. Dental and vision insurance are also paid by the District. Life Insurance - $20,000 for the first probationary year and $100,000 thereafter. Leave PTO - 11 hours / month Sick Leave - 15.75 / month Holiday - 12 designated holidays per year Incentives Education incentive - up to 5% of base pay for first 3 years, increases to the max of 7.5% thereafter Continuing education - 5% of base pay after 24 hours of continuing education hours Longevity - 2% of base pay starting at 10 years of service JOB SUMMARY: Under general direction, direct, and assist with administering the District's Facilities Master Plan for the construction, alteration, maintenance and repair of District buildings and related facilities; plan projects and estimate project costs; coordinate plans and specifications; estimate time and costs; review and analyze contractor bids; inspect work in process, order corrections and authorize change orders; perform other duties as required. CHARACTERISTICS: The incumbent is responsible for administering all phases of alteration, maintenance and repair projects from original need evaluation to final certification of completed work performed by contractors or supervised staff. Project workload normally includes major alterations and improvements and covers a wide variety of technical and craft disciplines including structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and related control systems. Incumbent plans, assigns, monitors, reviews and evaluates the work of a team of subordinate Facilities staff with oversight of the District Facilities Master Plan. The incumbent assists Support Services Branch Management with the development and maintenance of the District's strategic plan for properties: including existing Stations, buildings, and vacant land. The position incumbent is a Budget Officer and has authority to make approved Budget Expenditures. |
