The Port of Stockton is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
Administrative Assistant I - II
Salary Range: $4,780 to $6,472 / month Depends on Experience
The Administrative Assistant performs a central role in providing general office support with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism to executive management. Ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter with a positive, customer service-oriented attitude. Successful candidate will be dependable, possess excellent interpersonal & customer service skills, strong written & verbal communication skills, able to maintain confidentiality, accurate data entry skills, proficient organization and multi-tasking skills, and be competent in MS Office Suite. Prior experience in public agency setting preferred; strong experience providing direct administrative support to high-level management is highly desirable.
Requirements: Equivalent to graduation from high school and 3 years performing related office clerical work, including 1 year providing direct administrative support to upper management. Must have knowledge and experience in modern office procedures, protocol and decorum; correct English usage and grammar; travel arrangement procedures and calendar scheduling.

Police Support Technician (Temporary/Full-time for approximately 12 -18 months) $20 / hour. Provides technical support to Port Police; screens vehicle traffic at Port entrances; dispatches officers to calls for service; assists with reports and maintains required logs; operates communication equipment; communicates with vessels and conducts vehicle traffic control.
Minimum Requirements: Equivalent to graduation from high school plus education and/or work experience demonstrating strong work ethic, ability to learn and effective multi-tasking skills & a valid CA driver's license. Dispatch/communications/ police records/CCTV monitoring/ criminal justice /law enforcement experience or prior military service desirable. Must pass background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card. Must be able to work nights, weekends and 12-hour shifts.
