McClatchy is seeking an Account Executive to join our new and growing team. This solution-oriented individual will be responsible for generating digital ad sales revenue across the McClatchy portfolio as well as helping to evangelize the McClatchy brand in all national advertising markets.
Primary location: San Francisco or Los Angeles
- Develop a deep understanding of McClatchy brands, product and overall capabilitiesDrive revenue against McClatchy’s national digital footprint to meet and exceed budget
- Build relationships with key agency and brand executives on target accounts
- Manage the entire sales process including: meetings, RFP, negotiating, closing, and advising during execution
- Work collaboratively with all levels of staff within Sales, Media Operations, Strategy, Account Management, Product, Branded Content and Publishing teams
- Evangelize the McClatchy brand and its commitment to quality, local journalism to agencies and brands
- Proper and professional stewardship of active and completed campaigns
Profile and Experience
- 4+ years of direct digital advertising sales experience
- In-depth knowledge of digital media, online marketing and its competitive landscape
- Working knowledge of PMP’s, branded content and or content sponsorships
- Established book of advertising agencies and clients
- Demonstrate the ability to perform against quotas in a competitive market
- Strong desire to learn and contribute to an innovative environment
- Willing and able to travel as needed
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong communication and presentation skills
