Position Title:            IT Lead - Cloud Ops

Location:                    Rancho Cordova, CA. Limited telecommuting permitted, must live within 30 miles of Rancho Cordova, CA 9567. 5-10% occasional domestic business travel.

Salary:                        $144,000.00

 

 

I: Essential Job Functions:

  • - Combine software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions for streamlined operations. (5%)
    - Embrace and advocate a DevOps mindset. (7%)
    - Work with Cloud Operations managers on alignment of documentation repositories, shared knowledge articles, and support contact information. Consolidate SharePoint team sites, migrate legacy documents into online wikis accessible to the entire team. Identify data that is commonly needed among teams to consolidate and ensure currency of the information such as remote site inventory, maintenance and support contracts, vendor contacts, etc. (10%)
    - Work with development teams throughout the software life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases. (9%)
    - Build a Culture of One-IT by continuing to bring the Cloud Operations teams together to drive work, innovate, and improve delivery of our services. Work with peers to align resources to specific AWS accounts to improve operational knowledge of supported services, improve ownership and accountability, as well as improve recovery times. (3%)
    - Build and drive adoption for greater reliability, resiliency, and scalability of our production applications, while maintaining a cost conscience approach. (4%)
    - Lead and participate in disaster recovery tests for the environments you manage. (2%)
    - Establish knowledge sharing and demonstration sessions to showcase those wins with peer IT orgs and affected business units. (4%)
    - Document cloud architecture, security measures, and participate in client audits. (2%)
    - Support enterprise transformation activities such as mentoring the team and reinforcing Agile and DevOps concepts in every day scenarios. (6%)
    - Serve as a technical point of contact for all cloud services consumed by the team, and communicate any new enterprise standards or best practices to be adopted by the DevOps teams. (6%)
    - Working as a part of Cloud Migration team for Migrating servers and applications from on- prem physical datacenter to AWS (Amazon Web Services) using Cloud-Endure, Migration factory cloud tools and AWS infrastructure providing for new projects. (3%)
    - Working with Ansible Scripts for automation of WebLogic, Apache and Tomcat deployments to reduce downtime and increase efficiency for industry good practices. (6%)
    - Analyzing and implementing automations scripts using continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tooling with Jenkins and similar technologies. (8%)
    - Installing AppDynamics Application/Machine agents, along with migrating the individual projects from On-prem AppDynamics cluster to AWS and SAAS AppDynamics Clusters. (2%)
    - Serving as a Subject Matter Expert for the applications supported, and researching/resolving non-routine escalated P1/P2 issues. (3%)
    - Managing and reporting on assigned deliverables. (2%)
    - Identifying, assessing and communicating process improvement recommendations around automation and service stability. (2%)
    - Cross training other team members in application support. (4%)
    - Creating and maintaining system documentation including troubleshooting guides, support processes, and break-fix procedures based on lessons learned in resolving non­routine escalations; communicating this information to the team Participating in application deployments and approved changes into the environment in accordance with corporate change policy standards. (2%)
    - Participating in optimization efforts related to application performance and tuning application server components. (2%)
    - Coordinating with Systems PM in reporting defects discovered during support. (3%)
    - Facilitating the shutdown, recovery and testing of all impacted applications during. (2%)
    - Operating System patching cycles. (1%)
    - Assisting with application administration and user provisioning as required, or when these tasks cannot be delegated without introducing stability issues within the supported solution. (1%)
    - Participating in after-hours support for assistance in production recovery or time sensitive changes which can only occur outside of standard business hours. (1%)

 

II: Experience or Qualifications Required:

- 3 years of experience in DevOps Engineering performing installation, configuration, administration, and system performance and tuning.

 

III: Educational Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field
