Since 1944, Farmers' Rice Cooperative (FRC) has supplied domestic and international food manufacturers, brewers, private retailers, exporters, and distributors with premium quality California rice. Located in West Sacramento, Farmers' Rice Cooperative is looking for an Employee Relations Supervisor. The Employee Relations Supervisor will perform a variety of administrative and technical Human Resources work for Rice Milling Plant personnel, labor relations, and employee benefit programs as they relate to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), FRC policies, employee handbook, state and federal laws, internal reporting requirements, recruitment, selection and classification, performance evaluation, and fair employment. Resolve disputes between employees and supervisors/managers, interpret CBA, impartially investigate employee complaints, and coordinate grievance procedure. Weekend and shift work may be occasionally required, as Farmers' Rice Cooperative is a 24-hour operation.
Required qualifications include any combination of experience, education, and training that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined in job description. Three (3) to five (5) years of increasingly responsible employee relations experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with two (2) to three (3) years' experience in a union setting. Administration of HR reporting system, with Kronos experience a plus.
Desired qualifications are bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and PHR or SPHR certification and/or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college with major coursework in Human Resources or related field. Proven, positive employee relations are a must. The ideal candidate will have, but is not limited to, the following: knowledge of HR practices, concepts, and related regulatory requirements; have ability to assess organizational needs and implement solutions; have intermediate knowledge for Microsoft office applications and HRIS systems; understand and effectively navigate the negotiations process; and understand the legal and reporting issues related to HR.
