Under direction, performs the most complex professional accounting and budgetary duties involved in establishing, maintaining, analyzing, auditing, reconciling, and verifying financial records in support of designated programs; provides fiscal administrative support in preparing, analyzing, and monitoring the County’s annual budgets and accounts; prepares and audits a variety of accounting and complex financial, statistical, and budgetary reports, statements, and records utilizing GAAP; and does other work as required.
Positions in this class are responsible for management of one of four divisions of the Auditor-Controller’s Office (e.g., general accounting, audit, property tax and payroll, systems and accounts payable). Direction is received from the Auditor-Controller or Assistant Auditor-Controller. The work of these positions emphasizes responsibility for Countywide functions, the provisions of advice and coordinating of divisional activities, the development of policies and procedures, and the analysis of the most difficult and complex financial, accounting and administrative problems.
