E&T Youth Counselor
Full-Time position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
- Assess applicants to determine eligibility and enroll clients in educational and counseling programs
- Conduct parental education programs and activities to facilitate communication with youth
- Conduct life management skills training
- Conduct substance abuse education and prevention programs
- Identify at-risk youth and encourage their participation in community counseling, activity, training, and role model programs
- Counsel clients to determine employment, training, and educational services
- Provide referral service to clients regarding community services available
- Prepare records, documents, files, reports, and databases
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure
- Knowledge of client evaluation, counseling, and monitoring techniques and procedures
- Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records
- Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with CC Idaho policies, procedures, and safety practices
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- One to two years’ experience working with youth
- Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance
- Must pass a background check
Preferred
- Associate degree in social services, counseling or related field
- Negotiation and mediation skills
Required Physical Demands
- Is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
