CHEPD Coordinator and CGE Program Assistant
Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the following time-limited position: CHEPD Coordinator and CGE Program Assistant in the Center for Global Engagement.
Reporting to the Director of International Student and Scholar Services, this position will be responsible for serving as a part of a dynamic team supporting campus internationalization initiatives and as the key advisor and institutional coordinator for the University’s Cooperation in Higher Education and Professional Development (CHEPD) program for students and scholars from China.
Duties include, but are not limited too: supporting communication with partner institutions for the program in China; advising students and collaborating with institutional departments and community organizations in support of their active involvement in the academic and social experience in the University’s degree programs; participating in international and domestic travel in support of recruitment activities; advising and coordinating programs; managing communication processes via social media, website, WeChat and other venues in support of the program; and collaborating on other projects within the Center for Global Engagement.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with experience serving Chinese-speaking students required. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree; advanced or native speaking, reading, and writing skills in Chinese; and TESOL, TEFL or ESOL certification. Driver’s license and a current, valid passport without restriction to travel are required. A successful candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with people from different cultures; adhere to deadlines; provide effective service to students, scholars, and other campus stakeholders; advance a level of global awareness and an interest in and a sensitivity to different world views; communicate effectively in both written and oral forms; manage student funds deposited with the university effectively in support of program goals within budgetary guidelines with minimal oversight; demonstrate creativity in programming and problem-solving; and work with electronic tools in support of job functions.
