Finance Director
The City of Superior, Wisconsin has a population of 27,257 and the city limits cover a 40 square mile area. The City is at the border of Wisconsin on the shore of Lake Superior and is part of a larger metropolitan area which includes Duluth, Minnesota. The City offers four seasons of recreation and relaxation. Barker's Island combines a 420-slip marina with a Maritime museum. Snowmobile and ATV trails throughout the area connect to the Tri-County Corridor, a 60-mile recreational trail, from Superior to Ashland, Wisconsin. Twenty-one parks dot the City of Superior, the largest of which is Billings, located adjacent to the St. Louis River. The Superior Municipal Forest is a 4,500 acre forest located in Superior's city limits.
Work Location: Government Center, 1316 N. 14th Street, Superior, WI
Hours: Full-time; 8:00 am- 4:30 pm Monday-Friday (40 hours/week) and as otherwise needed.
Starting Salary: The starting salary range is approximately $98,530-$106,725 based on level of education & experience as it relates to the qualifications.

Performs responsible administrative work in planning and directing the financial activities of the City.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in accounting and ten years of progressively responsible accounting and auditing related experience is required, in addition to Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and the ability to obtain a license as a certified public accountant with the State of Wisconsin. Three years of government and fund accounting, an MBA, and/or CGFM credentials are desirable.
