Facilities Services Supervisor
The Facilities Services Supervisor will assist the Facilities Services Manager with planning, organizing, supervising and coordinating the activities of the Facilities Services Division within the Public Works Department. Including the maintenance and improvement of City facilities, management of maintenance contracts, coordination of major renovation and replacement of City facilities, and the rental and lease of City facilities; coordinate Facilities Services Division activities with other divisions and departments; provide highly complex staff assistance to the Facilities Services Manager; and to perform other duties as assigned.
$79,097.88 - $96,562.32 Annually
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
This is a Supervisory level position in the Facilities Services Division. Positions at this level are distinguished from other classes within the series by the level of responsibility assumed, complexity of duties assigned, independence of action taken, and by the amount of time spent performing the duties.
Employees perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series, including providing technical and functional supervision over assigned personnel and performing responsible duties related to the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Services Division. Employees at this level are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned areas of responsibility. Employee at this level will fill in for the Facilities Services Manager as needed.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
- Receives direction from the Facilities Services Manager.
- Exercises direct supervision over assigned technical, maintenance and administrative support personnel.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Training:
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
Four (4) years of experience as a construction project manager involving projects similar to city facilities, including (2) years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Training:
Equivalent to the completion of an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering, construction management, or a related field. A Bachelors' degree is highly desireable.
License and Certificates:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record as determined by the City.
