Chapa-De Indian Health has an opportunity for a Director of Nursing at their clinic in Auburn, CA.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Nursing will supervise, manage, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care within the medical department with an emphasis on team-based care.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. RN License, current and in good standing with the state of California, BSN Preferred.
2. A minimum of two years current nursing experience in a clinical setting.
3. Experienced in medical office management with proven experience in managing and leading medical staff in a professional manner.
4. Experience with quality management in an ambulatory or clinical setting including the ability to assess and improve the quality and efficiency of delivery care systems and processes for patients and staff.
5. Computer literacy and experience with EHR required.
6. Knowledge of Indian culture and sensitive to their health needs.
7. Current CPR Certificate.
8. Current and in good standing; CDL, vehicle insurance, and DMV printout.
SAMPLES of RESPONSIBILITIES Inclu:
1. Provide a model that ensures the delivery of quality nursing care in a holistic, caring and compassionate manner by all licensed and unlicensed direct care MA/nursing staff consistent with standards of care and patient safety in Auburn and Grass Valley clinics. 2. Work with Medical Department leadership to develop a team based care model that incorporates the 10 Building Blocks of High-Performing Primary Care. 3. Act as a change agent in leading the Nursing/MA staff through future changes. 4. Work with the Medical Department Leadership to clarify the nursing and medical assistants' roles and responsibilities with the goals of developing clear job descriptions, complying with government regulations, and having the nurse's work to the top of their licenses. 5. Provide clear direction, leadership and supervision to the RN Clinical Coordinators in both clinic sites. 6. Ensure the Agency's mission, vision and values are communicated to the MA/nursing staff and are integrated into the Nursing Department strategies, goals, objectives and work plans. 7. Oversee the development and implementation of an orientation and training program for new MA/nursing staff that includes skills assessment, competency evaluation, safety, infection control, and compliance with mandatory orientation requirements. 8. Ensure the RN Clinical Coordinators provide ongoing assessment by direct observation, training, and written evaluation of clinical nursing staff in the areas of competency and work performance. Provide written assessment on not less than an annual basis of each staffs' core competencies. 9. Develop, revise, and implement the Medical Department P/P Manual with the supervision of the Medical Director. 10. Assure the medical clinics compliance with licensing and AAAHC accreditation standards and provide needed correction in partnership with Medical Administrator. 11. Act as a liaison between MA/nursing staff and other program departments to assure patient care is coordinated within the Program. 12. Participate in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committee to improve quality of care throughout the Agency. 13. Participate in medical staff, EHR, Safety, Quality Assurance Performance Improvement and Diabetes Team meetings. 14. Coordinate patient care coverage at all clinic sites and under the supervision of the Medical Director and/or other Medical Providers. 15. Develop, revise, and implement Laboratory P/P Manual in compliance with the supervision of the Medical Director. 16. Oversee CLIA Waived laboratory procedures, controls, and records of maintenance, and prepare Laboratory M&E reports for the Safety and Infection Control Committee. 17. Act as a liaison with outside agencies.
