Merchandising Analyst
As a Category Analyst your role is to negotiate gross profit opportunities and sales programs with the vendor community. Negotiate gross profit buying opportunities with vendors (buys/slotting/DPS/etc.) while maximizing bill out inventory profit (last buys before increases/bracket buys/alternate sourcing). Negotiate and execute promotional merchandising programs with vendor (ads/food show/block buys) including national merchandising. Manage proper execution of reconciliation of vendor incentives (quarterly, monthly, prepay, OI) in order to ensure accuracy and proper timeliness from vendor community. Setup and maintain item and vendor data integrity (pricing/item accuracy/item changes/item assortment/category marketing info/lost margin resolution) Work on special projects with seniors and mangers, as necessary. Study and anticipate commodity changes to maximize revenue. Assist vendors and buyers with dead and excess inventory resolution. Interface with outside C&S departments as well as retail customers for resolutions, IMS-Vendor relations, and Prompt- AVS resolutions. Division representative for specific weekly company conference calls. Food-show coordinator; Merchandising key account contact / other retail contact. Vendor trade relations coordinator; candy program planning; trainer for C&S personnel. Informal lead for flyer-merchandising programs.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience Two years' related industry experience (wholesale or retail) Basic computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint Professional verbal and written communication skills Negotiation, organization, prioritization, and problem solving skills
