Contract Length: Annual - 185 days per year
Report Times: Varies by location but generally 11 to 8 or 2 :00 pm- 11:00 pm 5 days a week Monday-Friday
Salary: $10.00/hour
Essential Job Functions:
Primary responsibility will be the general condition and cleanliness of your assigned building including but not limited to the following:
- Custodians will generally be assigned to a specific school site for the duration of the school year
- Employee may have to change sites to cover a vacancy
- Maintain a cooperative personality (be able to relate to fellow workers, students and teachers
- Evaluate problems and determine solutions
- Communicate issues with the building principal and maintenance manager Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of work
- Notify night supervisor of building or equipment issues and any supply needs
- Cleaning duties include but not limited to keeping restrooms, classrooms, hallways, commons area and offices clean
- Check, stock and clean all restrooms nightly
- Mop tile floors - nightly Vacuum carpeted areas and rugs - nightly Sweep hallways - nightly Empty all trash cans and change liners
- Haul trash to dumpster nightly
- Keep all windows clean inside and out - as needed Follow school policies and enforce safety regulations
- Be knowledgeable of and practice safety in the workplace and ensure employees do the same
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by your supervisor or the building principal
- Cleaning supplies, chemicals and equipment will be supplied by the District Requirements related to certification or special skills needed High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units
- Employee must be able to read and understand cleaning chemical material safety data sheets and handle chemicals safely and properly
- Employee will have to pass a drug screen and background check
- Employee will be responsible for ensuring site is secure at the end of their shift and maintaining control of their keys and access control badge
- Other duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions
- Night custodian supervisor will cover all campuses and is responsible for supervising the evening custodians.
- This will include employees at 7th grade and West Campus as they are completed.
- Maintain a cooperative personality (be able to relate to fellow workers, students and teachers.)
- Evaluate problems and determine solutions.
- Initiates or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers to achieve work goals.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of work.
- Inspect completed daily cleaning for quality and acceptable standards.
- Maintain time and production records.
- Follow school policies and enforce safety regulations.
- Be knowledgeable of and practice safety in the workplace and ensure employees do the same.
- Communicate issues with the building principal and maintenance manager.
- Notify Maintenance Manager of building or equipment issues and any supply needs.
- Supervise the receipt and delivery of cleaning supplies to the building.
- Supervisor must be able to perform all cleaning duties to cover for absences of evening custodians.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by your manager.
- Cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment will be supplied by the District.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements related to certification or special skills needed for this position:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must keep driver's license current and acceptable to the school insurance company to be able to drive school vehicles.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units.
- Employee must be able to read and understand cleaning chemical material safety data sheets and handle chemicals safely and properly.
- Employee will have to pass a drug screen, driving record and background check.
- Employee will be responsible for ensuring all sites are secure at the end of their shift and maintaining control of their keys and access control badge Supervisory experience in a janitorial environment preferred.
