The Beaufort County School District is a thriving and diverse community of islands on the South Carolina coast. The Beaufort County School District has approximately 21,000 students attending 33 schools. Student population is growing on an annual basis. District has both national and state award winning schools. We are seeking applications for the opening of:
CHIEF INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES OFFICER
- Directs, plans, coordinates, and implements a comprehensive instructional and technology services program for the District in support of teaching and learning goals and educational needs. Provides assistance to the Superintendent as needed for long term academic planning, implementation, and development of policies and procedures for the District.
- Directs academic operations and administration of instructional services staff.
- Supervises student assessment and tests data analysis programs.
- Directs technology services including IT planning, network services, hardware, software and training.
- Provides leadership in facilitating curriculum improvement.
- Develops and implements evaluation and appraisal (programs and personnel) systems for the District.
- Recommends instructional staffing formula (allocation).
- Supervises subordinate personnel staff which involves such duties as instructing, assigning and reviewing work, planning, allocating personnel, acting on employee problems, and recommending promotions and disciplinary action.
- Coordinates and monitors the District instructional services budget.
- Oversees and ensures proper recordkeeping and updating of policies, procedures, regulations, and employee information.
- Interprets and formulates academic policy and procedures and provides related advice to administrators, employees and staff; recommends new or revised policies and/or procedures as warranted.
- Serves in an advisory capacity as a member of the Superintendent’s Management Team and as a Chief Officer. Assists other District administrators as needed to respond to instructional related problems, needs, requests, issues, etc.
- Serves as Superintendent’s designee as needed on specific assignments.
- Receives and reviews various records and documents such as budget information, various reports, schedules, work orders, regulations, curriculum plans, proposals, letters of correspondence, publications, etc.
- Keeps abreast of changes in policy, standards, procedures, and regulations pertinent to personnel and community relations functions.
