Position Title: Customer Service Representative
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (hourly), Part-time
Location: Durango, CO
Reports to: Director of Circulation & Operations
Scope: Ballantine Communications, Inc. is seeking a friendly Customer Service Representative in our Circulation Department. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of customer service experience, attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities: Confer with customers by telephone or in person to provide information about products or services, take or enter orders, cancel accounts, or obtain details of complaints. Check to ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems. Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken. Resolve customers' service or billing complaints by performing activities such as exchanging merchandise, refunding money, or adjusting bills. Complete contract forms, prepare change of address records, or issue service discontinuance orders, using computers. Conduct outbound telemarketing calls and carrier communications. Processing postal statements Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Attention to Detail — Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Cooperation — Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude. Integrity — Job requires being honest and ethical. Dependability — Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Training and Education: HS Diploma One year experience working in a customer service related position.
Additional Requirements: Position is subject to satisfactory completion of a background check and reference check. Reliable transportation to and from work is also required.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
Work Environment: This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
