Opening and Location
Atkore Conduit & Fittings, a part of Atkore International, currently has an opening for a Molding Technician for its Weatherford, TX location. Weatherford is located approximately 65 miles west of Dallas, TX.
Reporting and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Molding Manager, the Injection Molding Technician's primary focus will be the daily Molding maintenance operations involved in injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, including;
Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Preventive Maintenance of all Molds, Machines, and auxiliary equipment.
- Checking Product Quality and making necessary adjustments as required.
- Checking all Safety functions on Machines.
- Cleaning, inspection, and repair of Molds.
- Monitor operation and performance of equipment.
- Complete all required records, documentation, and reports as required.
- Handling any required start-up and shutdown operations of Molding Machines and equipment.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance for Molding and Machine Problems.
- Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency and work with quality inspectors to identify defects
- Assist with Production, New Product, and Processing Trials and Tests, as requested.
- Performing Mold Changes, Resin Changes, Purging, etc. for Machines and Setups.
- Performing scheduled and periodic Mold Preventive Maintenance, Cleaning, Polishing, Repairs, and Overhauls.
- Performing assembly, modifications, installation, and connection of auxiliary equipment as required for different line configurations and production requirements.
- Performing required Preventive Maintenance and Repairs on other Facility and Auxiliary Equipment and Systems.
- Comply with Quality and Environmental Management Systems Procedures and Work Instructions
- Comply with all OSHA, Fire Safety, EPA and other regulatory guidelines and rules.
- Comply with all Company Operations, Personnel, Safety and Environmental policies.
- Maintain clean conditions in all associated work areas.
- All other assigned duties
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 to 3 years of similar work experience preferred, but not required.
- Working knowledge/certification to operate a forklift.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Capable of leading, motivating and/or developing other people
- Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations
- Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization
- Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner
- Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment
